Yes I just happened to check because have not seen any recent posts. I hope Mr. AA has learned his lesson. Sometimes these cartoons hit the right person at the right time and they strike that funny bone. Shake, shake ,shake…..Or you aim the dern leaf blower up at the tree not the ground. Sheesh. Do us NewYorker-Miamians have to teach you CT’s everything?
This cartoon made me laugh out loud, Carl! At our house in CT, we were surrounded by trees. AA Hubby had no sooner cleared the lawn with the leaf blower, when it was complete covered again. He had to do the leaves at least six times – each time as though they had never been cleared away. We should have paid some neighborhood kids to climb the trees and shake the leaves all loose. Well, except that they would have all been inside playing video games and don’t know how to climb trees!
Thank you for reading and commenting on my Thanksgiving rant. I’ve been away from blogging for so long, that I clicked on your name thinking it would bring me to your blog. Instead, it brought me to your Gravatar! I don’t want you to think you’ve got a stalker out there if you see that someone clicked on you! LOL
That’s actually true because the best place for a mango or avocado tree is in the guy next door’s yard. You get the fruit he gets the mess. Nothing like 300 mangoes ripening and falling . The butterflies love them. The fruit ferments and they get drunk.
Do you have black olive and ficus trees? They are popular for home yards but the leaves are endless. I think they do that to cover the ground so no other plants can invade their space, just like lions that are territorial.
We have olive trees but whether they are black olive? And usually ficus are confined to tubs either inside or outside so we don’t have much problem with leaves. But I did inherit a sycamore tree in the back yard that drove me made with the leaves and little aeroplanes it dropped.
Actually the black olive tree has no olives. They are fast growing and can reach 90 feet in 5 years so are popular for landscaping new homes. Until they find out about the bazillions of leaves.

If you shake it right in the right wind the leaves might end up on the other side of the fence too. Result!

I love this! 🙂
And it reminds me of a little fantasy between me and my husband of how when the wind blows it’s actually caused by the trees moving by themselves!

Might have to employ Hannibal’s tactics for that one: an elephant or two…

I understand they were very effective in Asian wars of the time but H had very few when he reached Italy to face Scipio’s guerrilla warfare.

Can’t shake our oak tree, just have to use the blower when the neighbor’s away. JK We’ve never done that.
