One thing I learned in this “practice” was to use pencils with softer lead which would make the color darker and more vibrant. These were #1, and #2 or #3 would be better.
I’ve been to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. Interesting how he also used to paint on the frames, although most of those have not survived. The one I saw looked a little odd.
