    Aww, those elephants are cute. The only reason not to give them peanuts is if there’s a peanut shortage. Oh, wait. I think I did hear something about a shortage which is why the price of peanut butter was going up. Oh, well. Maybe hazelnuts will do?

    It’s selfish of me to say, but my favourite days in Kathmandu are strike [‘bandh’] days, when the chaotic city falls almost completely silent… and nobody offers me hash/tiger balm/trekking first thing in the morning :].
