Great work my man. Especially like the Picasso rendition. The more ya do, the better you’ll get. I copy the masters from time to time to hone my drafting skills. Keep at it.
Yes I agree about Van Gogh. The subjects seem simple enough , but…… You cannot match the texture and depth of the heavy brush strokes with colored pencil. With oils to copy him I think you have to get yourself “into character” if you can and then paint in fear, anger, depression and profound inner turmoil and sort of erupt on the canvass. I’d keep your ears though.
I’ve read a lot about Picasso so do know about his tiles and pottery. I once saw a movie where Picasso was drawing with paint and brush on a pc of lucite (or something clear) — it was fascinating to watch him work and to watch him develop his thought into an art piece on the clear plastic from the other side…. I’ve always loved his style and his confidence.
It is fun to try different things beyond cartoons. I wish I was not limited in this condo so I could enjoy other art forms like pottery and restoring old furniture.

Experimenting, I see. Good replicas. Van Gogh isn’t the easiest artist to copy either. I’ve done Botero in oil. Kinda fun.
