Several strong visuals come to my mind…it’s probably because today is the 4th and I’ve been listening to patriotic music, but I find my imagination envisioning the toasts that are sometimes made in nationalistic pride…young men, primarily! It’s a very evocative poem. Debra
I met the Water Witch once, but she didn’t mention her daughter, just spelled our H2o so it became the most delicious vino I have ever tasted. I am happy to meet the daughter of Water Witch who has obviously inherited her mum’s beauty and magic – turning words into a wine glass – superb spell casting…

Powerful imagery–will never think of wine in the same way again.

It was only after reading the poem a second time, that I saw the wineglass in the lengths of the lines. Very clever and a good post. 🙂

The inspiration for this came from Van Gogh’s “The Red Vineyard”.

Thanks, Janna. Carl has a way of placing it on the page that makes it look way better than when I did it!

Beautiful poem, Suzicate! I love how the words form the shape of a wine glass.
