Thank you I like the 4, 6, or 8 line compositions best. Of course that does not give you many words to get your idea across but I know I don’t bother reading epic poems of some authors. I try to craft with syllables. For example each line here has 8. 16/12/16/12 works as well as 12/10/12/10 and the like.
I am 61 now. I am astonished that I feel comfortable at where I am at. But I had to be this age to be where I’m at, have what I have and know what I know. Does that make sense?

I hate to be wrong Dave. But this is one case that I really do hope I am 100% wrong.

Nice way of looking at wrinkles – as something you earn, a badge of honor.

It’s the only way to delude yourself with any degree of rationality.

I have more facelines than most american army generals have chest medals; does that make me young and hard done by or just REALLY old.

Yes Carl, it does make sense. Especially to those of us who have made that 61-year-old journey … and beyond.

Sargeant Major, huh? Wearing our stripes proudly, wonder where I rank in this war on wisdom’s wrath?

This is a really wonderful way of looking at growing older. Why do we fight it so much?

I suppose we do a subconscious Dylan Thomas and rage against the dying of the light.
