Oh no! You mean the animals are caught up in all this madness, too? Troubling!

Style ridicule or style envy ? That is the question. “Stature itself is a matter of style and rarely merit based. ” ( I said that in mid 1960’s when reviewing Vance Packard’s HIDDEN PERSUADERS).

Sounds like high school! (And adults – in a sad amount of cases haha)

Seems contempt is a trans species behavior.

I can’t explain it. Sometimes a gag comes to mind first and I design a sketch to fit . Other times I have a working sketch in mind and think up a gag to match. It seems some outside source is feeding them to me out of the blue. Often they come in dreams and I keep a notepad by the bed and write a word or two so I’ll have some memory of it when I get up. Rarely do I sit down and think “Now let me come up with an idea about this or that topic.” It’s a mystery. History and literature are fertile grounds from which to harvest ideas and am thankful for an education in those areas. I always drew cartoons even as a very young child but I got serious about it and kept portfolio since about 1985. I like the single frame cartoon instead of the strip. It is challenging because you have to deliver the whole idea in just one shot.

That’s so interesting, thanks and you’re right it must be harder to get the gag across in one. 😊

One reason I prefer white and pastel solids.
