She has an eye for detail. Robert clearly did not notice much.

This cartoon took quite a lot of time with the details.

You say that like it’s a bad thing. 😉

True. Making a home takes effort to be disorganized.

Oh, if all our messes were this obvious!
April 19th, 2017 at 19:13
Yes, matters of mind and heart…
April 19th, 2017 at 15:41
What a mess! I too would have give a piece of my mind to Robert!

Robert’s mom would appreciate that. However. mom has not follow her own rules. The closets and garage are a mess !

Thinking about how many mothers have used that line. HAHA!

Yes seems some things of humankind are archetypal.

Amazing how often we offend animals in getting our point across. Another pig quote is “putting lipstick on a pig”. Most insults to animals are a reflection of animals in the care of people not animals in the wild.

Yes we do offend animals. They are much smarter then we give credit. Each day the squirrels remember where I put the peanuts and the crows and blue jays know the place where to find the bread. Romans do not approve of speaking “pig Latin”.

If we want to enhance enjoyment of life, we might need to lower our expectations. Just sayin’…

Agree. 50% messy is allowable.
April 19th, 2017 at 10:50
Well I get it, and it’s a good one!!
Good. James, below, is in Kenya. We sure don’t want the big bad wolf knocking on the door of a messy house

Is that a cultural joke I don’t get it
April 19th, 2017 at 08:14
American idiom or reference to “pig sty” (pig farm enclosure) relates to anything that is a filthy or at least a very unorganized mess. The joke is that the “people” in the cartoon are indeed pigs. So it’s like what does poor Robert’s mother expect ? Part of the joke is attributing human characteristics to animals and of course the never ending battle for parents to get children to be neat and clean. Another American saying is “That will happen when pigs fly.” Since pigs don’t fly the event will never happen. You posed a good question James as often sayings from other cultures and languages may make no sense at all to us. One example is the Italian saying “The rotten fish stinks from the head.” The meaning there is that a government or business is corrupt from the top leadership.
