Good question James. “the wages of sin” is an old and currently used expression to say that it will be very costly in the terms of effort on a person who has lead an evil life to earn forgiveness, atonement and possible redemption in the eyes of Jesus and God. So it is not a matter of money but the cost , in a sense, for the evil person to earn his way back to consideration in living a Godly life.
This is SUPERB, my Dear Carl! You Did make me Smile. …I must remember to keep some money for the payment myself! …To mr youknowwho, …Just Joking, of course.
Thanks. I figure the Devil owes me money, however, for all his temptations in my life. Plus if I put my treasure in heaven as such is revealed in The Book he won’t be able to get any.
You are getting far too many “likes” and comments. I have therefore decided to do neither in response to this latest toon. Let this be a salutary lesson to you.
Perhaps you would consider sending me “salutary” money instead. This would certainly ease my resentments over that tax policy of your King George III some years back.Certainly ruffled some feathers over here. Also please accept my somewhat late congratulations for sinking the Bismark. In addition, I think you should be a bit more contrite over those “sea dogs” pirating all that gold from Spanish ships returning from the New World. I am 1/4 Spaniard myself after all.
I can’t be held responsible for the actions of George III any more than I can blame you for the disgraceful actions of King Nancy Reagan IV. As for the Bismark, those kraut sonsofbitches had it comin’!
Concede your points. But John Calvin says each of us are responsible for everything since stupid Adam ate that apple. I never really bought into that, however.
