Congratulations Carl. What’s your secret to not changing websites??? So true what you say about visiting other blogs as I was the same, knew noone online but just prrsisted in commenting on other blogs & webcomics. Some followed me back & some didn’t. I see so many comic sites that never have any comments where I loeave a comment but they never repay the visit. I think some people expect that they can put a comic online & get lots of visitors without making any effort on their own part.

  Reciprocity is simple courtesy and most is not obligatory because I really am interested in what the people post in most instances. I gotta tell ya though giving equal attention to all is becoming impossible as so much in my inbox from other quality bloggers. I simply could not imagine ever having such a “problem” when I started. Switching sites ? I haven’t a clue about all that stuff so will just stay right here with wordpress. Compared to other bloggers, 200,000 seems rather meager and insignificant but for me it has been a wonderful joyride . 200,000 is a mind boggle for lil’ ol’ me.

    When I started I did not even have anyone with whom to communicate via email. Experience viewing other blogs with large followings seemed to indicate they had considerable connections in their field of work and profession. Many were published authors, photographers, artists, musicians and health providers. Having a big family helps expand a network and so does a presence on social media. Young people had schoolmates. So once a person began a blog a network of contacts from which to draw followers was already established. I began my network with humorists, artists, cartoonists and poets of whom I had previously never known. Following blogs of that nature gave me a presence among like interested folks. But most of all just wholesome, talented, and interesting people, some of whom I have a beyond blog friendship now, composes the major part of my wordpress “family”. I have also feature over 70 guest bloggers and that has resulted in connections too. I started at zero.
