And sweet peppers Rosy, not hot ! When I was 4 years old while all the other cousins were playing and terrorizing the neighborhood like good little Sicilian boogers, I stayed in the kitchen with grandma (abuela).
What? How can that be right… I love onions and garlic in spaghetti and even finely chopped in hamburger meat for burgers YUM… course maybe that’s why they’re witches they don’t know the joy of onions AND garlic 🙂
That’s what my grandmother told me as well. (I was just a little older) And now I’m thinking intensely about our grandmothers. Where they “just” good cooks, or… (?) LOL
Yeah. One way that helps me – don’t buy onions. I think garlic enhances flavor but onion overpowers the natural taste of the meat or vegetable. But that’s just me. I would put chocolate sprinkles on anything.
The two flavors clash and the turmoil certainly affects digestion in a negative way. It’s a harmony thing I suppose. I do think, however, that garlic and sugar make a splendid accent for vegetables.

Good eye. I think a little detail like that and the cat off to the side add a little frosting, if you will, to the cartoon theme. Thanks for visit.

I’m not eating at their house, I’m not a fan of either onions nor garlic.

American cooking ruins the gravy using both in my opinion and that of my grandmother who taught me when I was 4 years old.
