Your reading choices are as catholic as mine. Congratulations on the books you have read so far. My total is not as great but I am currently reading Winter of the World which does have 818 pages. Think I might count it as two.
I have a digital stack of books on my Nook and in my Kindle app, then there’s the paper and print actual books in a pile, and still I’m afraid I don’t get thru 4 a month… that’s quite a goal you’ve set for yourself.
I love your assortment of reading material Carl. It occurred to me in January that I should keep a list of what I read, not only from a curiosity point of view but because I read enough that I forget what authors I want to follow up on. Right now I am pretty caught up with James Patterson, and have been trying to include at least one non-fiction to three of my fiction. Just finished a good one by Saroo Brierley called a Long Way Home.Chris
That’s a great goal. Mine has been to read a classic, reread something I was probably too young to appreciate, then something contemporary. So, went from Steinbeck, to Vonnegut, to Cormac McCarthy last month as an example. I allow myself to cheat anytime, and have plenty of chocolate chip cookies on hand. There’s no reason you need to know that last bit. Enjoy!
Ah, yes, the classics. All the ones I was supposed to read in college. I suppose that’s why I had to change majors from English to history. I was punished appropriately , however, 35 years ago when getting MA in religious studies. The Jesuits at Barry College in Miami Shores made this poor Presbyterian read elevendy million books !
You enjoy any of the genres, I see. I need to read more myself. I have books waiting for me to open them. Off topic but your comics have a similar feel to this other site I’ve visited, Hark a Vagrant dot com, I think it is. You may wanna check it out.
15 new books arrived this week. 100 pages into THE ROSETTA KEY this morning. Like the historical fiction “mystery, crime, find the treasure adventure” stuff. Will focus on William Dietrich and Bernard Cornwall next few months. Will check out Vagrant site. Thanks.

Don’t have Kindle. Sometimes only a dozen or so pages a day , other days over a hundred and fifty. Being retired does provide the time.

Forgive me for sounding judgmental, but a totally worthwhile goal.

I think I’d go stark raving mad without my nose in a book or doing crostics or crosswords.
