At least when something is reverse alphabetical order, they’re at the front. Just think of how M and N feel. They’re always in the middle, no matter what. I do feel sorry for K, though. It’s rather redundant when you could simply use C and get the same sound.
I wasn’t fond of being in the middle of the alphabet growing up. I usually ended up smack dab in the middle when we sat alphabetically in the classroom. And – I was always a straight eye-shot from the teacher. UGH!
At the beginning of the school year, I have students seated alphabetically. As I have grandchildren whose last name begins with “W,” I know how unfair that is. So I do try to shake it up as we move into the school year.
These guys should take a cue from Amitabh Bachchan, one of the most popular male actors of Hindi films. In one of his memorable macho roles in the seventies, he says (translated in English) “Wherever I come and stand, the line begins from there…”
And within the next year or so, 6 perished in Vietnam. Those were turbulent times and most of us had a silent awareness of such a possibility and entered the adult world unsure and apprehensive of such a world of volatile change and uncertainty. I think I’ll say no more. After all this is supposed to be a humor blog.
I would not know. I still use fountain pen , embossed paper and stamps. I suppose I could head over to the telegraph office over in Lawrenceville, then catch a game of checkers at the barber shop.
I get in line at the grocery store with only one person ahead of me and the person’s credit card does not work, try to cash check and they don’t take checks, picks items with no price tag, did not bring enough money, runs back to get 6 forgotten items, does not speak English, dumps $65 of change on the counter….I shoulda got in the line behind 8 people – much faster.

I never found alphabetically seating useful when I was teaching. Let them sit wherever they chose then made seating chart.

Don’t forget about Q. Along with Z, he used to be missing from telephone keypads back in the day. Which sucked if you were trying to reach Bob Qyzzyx.
