It was really all just innocent fun and really am glad my parents planted a child’s imagination to live in the special world of mystery and wonder that belong to children only. Oh, there were no pagan gods. Raised at Mt Olivet founded almost 100 years ago which was the first and only Italian Presbyterian church in America.
How did your Mother, Hmmmm did you say she was a which ??? spare a Dim in those years Carl, Wow they had so little luxuries but than you were worth it to her no doubt or were you spoilt. Just loved the Fairy Story about your beard but to be honest I have one now too, it’s something to do with age but I don’t shave I pluck Hmmmm that rhymes with duck, are you going to throw something at me Lol
Fairy Stories are for Children to enjoy, like Hansel and Gretal, Cinderella and Snow White, they have a message too, when a Child grows up they accept that it was just a Fairy Story, they don’t think they were lied to by their Dad and Mum but the lesson they learned remains. Santa shows Children that it is good to give joy to others which is what Saint Nicolas did too and he is who Santa originated from when he died, you will find that in the Bible we are to give freely, or do you still believe in the Easter Bunny Carl ? like having a Beard at six ?
Children don’t worship Pagan gods, deceived Adults do!
Oh no, not mother but I called the Tooth Fairy a witch. My tongue in cheek humor implying the Tooth Fairy was a cheapskate. No pagan gods just children’s harmless fairy tales that was part of our imaginary world into which adults could not trespass. No pagan gods. raised at Mt Olivet founded 100 years ago, the first and only Italian Presbyterian church in America.
So good Carl, Pagan gods are the pits, but to be honest I’m fed up with the view that Christmas and Easter are Pagan just because they mess them up, God confirms both in the Scriptures and when we Celebrate them.
Some of the Christmas Symbols are in the Scripture too, it is how we accept them that matters, God tells us as we think in our heart so we are, I will leave you a link for you Carl to save a lot of wordage here. Sorry about the amount of comments moderated someone changed my name in my details and I didn’t realize it till later.
I wish I could have a breard but my wife won’t let me. Perhaps you could send a convincing/authoritative letter to her Carl??? This post made me think of this comic http://formalsweatpants.com/comic/the-tooth-fairy/
Must have been the going rate back then, you do know those dimes were pure silver, that 1955 dime if you still have it could sell for 6 dollars today. Alas you probably did what I did with that dime, bought a 5 cent soda and a 5 cent candy bar. Those were the good old days 🙂
Honest but my resentments never seem to evaporate. But my memory is declining with age now and I can’t seem to remember what I am supposed to be angry about. G does for us what we cannot do for ourselves.
Gotta tell ya, I never heard about any of these myths. Teeth fell out whenever and nobody made a big deal about it. Guess that’s the way it was with seven kids in the house.

It was funny my dad never made me believe in a tooth fairy, every time I lost a tooth, he just gave it to my mom to keep in a container with all my other tooths and he just gave me five dollars or so hahah
My fairy left a nickel, and I was thrilled to get it. I only collected on the first tooth. After that one, losing teeth was a part of being a big person.
Gawd, I know the feeling. They did it with my Bunny Rabbit too. I must have driven my parents crazy because I asked when they would return at least twice a week for a year. I did not forget.
The tooth fairy I knew probably went broke. She gave me and all my siblings a quarter each time we lost a tooth. I had lots of siblings with lots of teeth. One dollar would have been nice. Blessings to you, Carl…
It is a wonder that we are not all paranoid schizophrenics..With all of those “strangers” slipping in and out of our houses and bedrooms in the dark of night.. The Sandman, Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and most of all the “Bogey Man”.. But then again, I guess it’s no surprise as no one locked their doors back then. lol.
Well perhaps you are lucky. We had to go through the trauma of suffering adult lies not only about the Tooth Fairy but Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Sandman. No wonder many of us were cynics and alcoholics by age 9.

I liked the cartoon. Maybe compromise on beard with a probational period. If after 20 years if she doesn’t like it you’ll shave it off.
