Poor Dave … You just burst his bubble. Good one, Carl. 😉
About Darlene’s comment and yours on spelling errors: even though I’m very careful, some get thru and you can hear my anguished screams across the continent. My second pair of eyes on my writing is my husband, Dave. 😉
I am a very good proof reader but one should never be so arrogant not to let someone else review. Our mind and eyes often see what is supposed to be there not the actual written text.
With being Dyslectic from birth Carl, like others who are the same as me, I can’t spell and sometimes I write back to front , you would say the cat sat on the mat, I say the mat the cat sat on, both saying the same thing but yours flows better.
You may remember reading Carl how having this disability affected my Childhood and does others too, although today they recognize it and help us when we are young to overcome some of the difficulties it causes but when I was a Child they thought I was backward and the ignorant today treat us the same, which is far from the Truth.
Mostly we have very high intelligence and can even see outside the box, we are either gifted Creatively or with Technology requiring maths, this depends on what side of the brain we function on , you function on both. I am creative but spelling, punctuation and grammar still cause me problems, but I don’t get upset now even when others have a go at me, it just shows their lack not mine.
Another reason is with my spelling appears to be in error when I Blog is because I’m an Aussie and we spell quiet a few words differently than you do in America, as I have found out with Firefox, which has helped a lot but I prefer our own way of spelling some words, it is the same as the K.J.V of the Bible, as an example you say Savior we say Saviour it seems you eliminate letters in words, which is why there is Translation errors in some of your newer Translations of the Bible, also some letters have been added too which were not in the original like small particales such as; as, is, it, etc.
Trying to learn another way to spell words now with being Dyslexic and at my age would be much too difficult and time wasting.
What a beautiful thing to say Carl, they would have to be the the most precious words anyone can hear, a wonderful gift that can’t valued in a earthly way, I will treasure your words always, Thank you Carl.
I made this mistake once, on a poster for my first book launch, Amanda in Arabia – The Perfume Flask. It said she encountered a dangerous dessert. (an exploding pudding perhaps??) It was soooo embarrassing. Had to take all the posters down and order new ones.
It cost me about $75 each to publisher to correct 6 spelling errors I found in 6 cartoons for print on demand. I proofread so so many times. Now 3 years later I’ve found another one.

Sand or cake??? The S really does matter. Nothing worse than feeling like a nice slice of cream cake & getting a bowl of sand instead

There must be something good about a bowl of sand. The whole Middle East are killing each other over millions of square miles of sand.
