I remember Carl watching black and white T.V for the first time when I was 8, Wow how did they get all those people in that small box.
My Birthday is Boxing Day so I have a double celebration that is if anyone remembers, yes the joy of being born at Christmas time, a half eaten Christmas cake with candles stuck in it! but there is a plus, in Aussie land it’s a Holiday on my Birthday, so I never had to go to work.
Christmas got you a doll (maybe), most likely a winter coat, or shoes or underwear. Not of those boxes and boxes of toys. We appreciated Christmas more then. ❤
The pictures took me to favorite places, and then I was humming a Simon and Garfunkle tune,
Time it was
And what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence
A time of confidences…

But you may get coal for the train instead of getting the train.

I love train sets too! I have an attic space all set up for one, but my son and husband never got around to it. Maybe someday, I’ll surprise everyone!

If you were bad you had to wear the ones with the stripes horizontally so like prison garb and go to jail in your room.

All I ever really wanted was lots and lots of toy soldiers. I was handy in the woodshop very early age and made my own wooden forts and castles.

I re-mem-mem-mem. I was glad I was born in 1949 and been a part of those days. The color TV, the transistor radio, and Alan Shepherd.
