I also remember the name Penelope Pitstop a character in the Wacky Races comics. I always pronounced it Penna-Lope. I could probably write a whole list of words & names I pronounced wrong as a kid. I remember in about grade 5 back in the 60’s, me & a friend found the word penis in the dictionary but we pronounced it with a short E as in pen. Then we were going around school asking other boys if they had a pen-is. Many weren’t familiar with the word & we thought it was a great joke. Little kids are easily amused, at least I was
I thought he was fond of “tilting at windmills”. Looks like he chased them as well. Whether you tilt at it or chase it, a windmill will still be a windmill ๐
