Not artistic license my friend – study the art genre. This is Mexican art form and therefore expressed from the axis of that culture. As you know Jesus is characterized quite differently in Africa or the Caribbean or in Russia to name a few examples.

Cool artwork. I always thought the Day of the Dead was an interesting holiday. I once saw someone who painted their face for it. It looked awesome.

Yes, Oct 31, Nov 1,2. My friend is opening an etsy store and am trying to test and get feedback for possible sales of my art and to see if this type or other forms of art in which I may engage have appeal so post nothing to do with festival dates. I may try to get booth at fairs here in Miami as there is huge Cuban population as well as some Caribbean and Central American. Many in these cultures practice a culturally modified Catholicism. Praying for the dead is seen with disapproval by some Catholic clergy as that is an affront to God’s judgment in alleged afterlife. I am not interested in those issues because this Presbyterian is engaged in entrepreneurship not theology.
