I painted this on 8 3/4″ x 12 1/2″ half inch plywood with acrylics and glitter tube glue. It is a modified copy : painting by Pristine Cartera Turkus – Day of the Dead Wedding Art series. Original 184 x 240.
I have focused on cartoons and arts and crafts folklore types of art. I also enjoy assembling WW I plastic model airplanes with detailed decals and color. I have not picked up my brushes and paints for at least 15 years. They were glad to see me when I resurrected them. I think I will continue to experiment in this genre of art.

This is great work! I originally painted the calavera with the guitar for the Tulsa Day of the Dead festival back in 2012. I found your site while doing research, and I am honored that you thought enough of it to repaint it in your own style.

I googled this art when I started to try my hand at it. I now am a lot more creative on my own. I have been cutting the parts from poster board and pasting them on poster board . Then I can run them through the big roller at Walmart or Office Depot to make prints. The prints cost me about $30 each. Have not been successful marketing. I gave credit to you and am so delighted for your visit. I hope you are not mad that I chose your work from which to practice and learn.More practice post 8/12/14 and more refined effort post 9/20/14. I gave the picture I used of yours to a fellow that writes Old West tales in Arizona. He was so happy. I was not able to find your name at the time to credit. Appreciate your visit.

Yes. I think I am good at mimicking primitive. The chess pieces I carve are like primitive Celtic carvings of the 700’s AD or so. The other reason is that I am primitive in my ability.

These are great!!! I’ve always loved things related to Day of the Dead. I have a friend who’s a Spanish teacher. He used to have pictures of candy skulls in his classroom.
