The fact that you remember means you have been around here for a while and that is appreciated. Some recycling yes as I refine and improve and I can get away with reposting as there have been so many new followers from whom I appreciate the visits.
Gambling like wrong Theology leads to poverty materially or spiritually, as you shared Carl they sound like a sure thing but you can bet you’ll be a looser!
Ah, but those of faith know that there is one sure thing, don’t we? All we have to do is accept His invitation and that is a safe bet for us all. Blessings.
Yes so True Carl but we need to know what His invitation is and show we have accepted it or it’s like the addiction to gambling it seems to have ups but there are more downs and in the end your bankrupt.
I know I have been there with both but along came the Accountant and said there is a better way follow me, so I cashed in my chips and followed and the value of doing so is beyond worldly reckoning (see below) yes you could say I won the jackpot but the prize is Eternal.
Mark 8:34-38 And when he had called the people unto him with his Disciples also, He said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the Gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the Holy Angels.
I once heard it said that gambling is for those people who don’t understand statistics. :Love the cartoon, Carl. I’m going to follow you, because you make me smile. 🙂
