“Hey, lookee wad I found in old stuff this morning !”
Thomas Jefferson Jr High, North Miami, Florida. Left pin – best in school American History 8th grade. Right pin – best in school World Geography 9th grade. It was a while ago. John F Kennedy was president.
In the beginning there were awards, and the awards were good, and still awards continued through time, but in the beginning the awards were received with greater pride.

Those early awards showed you had a strong academic side early on. History and geography both. Quite impressive, Carl. 🙂

Thanks. I see you are from Germany. I have always wanted to visit Stuttgart as I am told it has the best wood carvings in all of Europe.

I was kinda proud. Then I saw that these stupid pins they had the nerve to give out cost 9 cents. That’s right, 9 stinkin’ cents.

But that was around 1960-1962 and by today’s monetary standards.. That nine cents is probably worth around $3.72 congratulations..
