Oct. 1, 1932, World Series vs Chicago Cubs. Babe points, he’ll hit it out.

Babe calls the shot at Wrigley Field.

Only photo of Ruth pointing, rest are artists renditions.

Home plate, congratulated by Gehrig.

Doctored photos and fraud , it is all a hoax revealed by Carl D’Agostino with the truth !

Yep! The best part of the ballgame is the food. I don’t suppose Babe was eating a Dodger dog, though. Very clever, Carl!

Was the pointing something he did regularly? I thought it was a one-time moment in history.

The pointing was a one time occurrence although those home runs were a regular matter. I love the audacity and love even more that he delivered on the threat. What is esp memorable is that it was a world series game. Remember Ali guaranteeing he’d beat Liston and Namath promising to beat the Colts in the Super Bowl? Gotta love it !

Was it a Coney Island hot dog? But of course whatever it was, he chased it down with a lot of booze..

Ah, I know one thing it’s not “Pink’s” of Los Angeles.. If he were still in Boston it would have been “Joe and Nemo’s” God how I miss the old places sometimes. My dad would take me there when I went to work with him on occasion..

Babe Ruth earned his stripes, Carl. I wasn’t a NY Yankees’ fan, but I did admire some of their players. Ruth was one of them. 🙂
