Dixie sent me her drawing. I fell off the chair laughing because I live in Miami, Florida and this is standard fair for all the tourists from up north that get lobster roasted red in our sunshine and had to have her post today. We named it “Santa’s Florida Stripes” Thank you Dixie.

A lot of very talented people visit here . Some are new to the blogosphere. People helped me get started and I must give away what was so freely given to me by promoting the talent of others.

As one who lives in Central Florida, I’m laughing along with Carl. I grew up in Miami and when we saw a snow-white tourist bask in the sun we laughed, “Another lobster.”
Good work, Dixie.

Poor Santa fella. He must be from Wisconsin. We are all white like that up here, and burn as soon as we are lucky enough to go some place warm. Well done, Dixie! Loved it.

Ah, you can always tell a tourist by the sunburn….you can tell how many days they’ve been on vacation by the brightness of the color!

Thank you for your wonderful comments. I am happy to see this cartoon enjoyed
A friend did the colored pencil portrait of me from a photo of myself when I was seventeen…

Lovely cartoon and self-portrait, Dixie! I spent most of my growing-up years in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and I am sure that climate is very similar to yours. Up-country visitors came in their hoards for holidays and that is exactly what happened to them!

Delightful cartoon, Dixie. Made me laugh. As Carl said, this is what happens to unsuspecting tourists when they spend too much time outside in sunny Florida.
