I had heard of “racing against the clock”. But this looks like “racing with the clock”.

If you go to your dashboard & select Users > Profile then in the upper right it should show your Gravatar image. Your Gravatar is linked to your email adress. Have you started using a different email? If so you will need to go to your Gravatar.com page & update your email. If not then I’m not sure. Maybe check at your Gravatar profile to make sure your photo is still loaded there & that nothing has gone wrong as far as your email being correct. If it was working then stopped working & nothing was changed then I can only suggest contacting WP.com support.

I always did too: one electric and one back up wind-up. This was because I used to get up at 5 AM to study for exams in college and that electric clock did not go off and I woke up 15 minutes before exam started. I never let that happen again for the next 35 years until I retired.

“Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up, I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
      Ah ”
