We just had a Wallenda cross Niagara Falls a few weeks ago, just a few days before the anniversary of Maria Spelterina’s 1867 feat where she crossed in less time while wearing peach baskets on her feet!
Once I got a $28 penalty from the bank saying I was $9.10 overdrawn. I raised the dickens. Then the bank closed up and left. A few weeks later I got a check for $9.10. They kept the remaining $18.90 fee.
I tend to get my news off the streets and CBC Radio Canada (which is worth a listen online). I don’t watch TV, am told that its in the house somewhere. You wanna see fearless. You should see a shaky enigmatic persona do the walk of life. Doubt the news medias gives a tinker though.
Lester will be vaulted to success. The nattering nabobs of negativism (I’m betting you remember this catch phrase, Carl, of Spiro Agnew about the media) will be awed by his fearlessness.
I do remember him and heard the speech live. It really was his finest moment. Harbinger for Watergate. They got Sen Guerney here in Florida too. I followed whole Watergate and related stuff very closely. I shook hands with Nixon 3 times: 1965, 1968 and 1972. The President that was the master of alliteration was Warren G Harding( wasn’t much good for anything else except ladies, poker and bourbon). If you can google his quotes you will find them very very amusing.
I was a fan of MSNBC but unfortunately they have now moved very far to supporting the left’s agenda and seem even more slanted than the propagandists at FOX. The common man’s advocate, Dillon Raddigan is gone but I think Chris Mathews calls the shots fairly. Al Sharpton, Martin Bashir and Rachael are clearly Obama agents.I guess the only fair and balanced is CNN. Oh where is Barry Goldwater when we need him? As you see I don’t do political cartoon commentary because that’s not why people visit here. But as a retired history teacher I do follow this stuff daily. I think I’ll be writing in Ralph Nader for president. Again. PS You have to admit FOX has real dazzling babes.
Oh…. they do have the babes! LOL
I agree, I think throwing your political agenda into a blog divides your readers. I write for entertainment and sneak in some history when I can. How else will anyone coming out of school today learn history.

Sometimes I think walking a tightrope might be easier than balancing the checkbook 🙂
