Look what I found!I
“In 1880 and along the 80’s, 65% of the Jews were involved in the Dressing and Textile industry.
Why Dressing and Textile?
1. The Dressing branch was in times of revolution and it had many open jobs.
2. The Jews had knowledge in the textile industry
3. The whole family could work in the dressing field. In this way the family connections reserved and there was no need to work on Saturdays.”

among the first results googling for “history Jewish textile”
65%!!
I also didn’t get it, but it doesn’t matter. It’s probably what is called Americanadas here. There must be lots of Jewish names in the textile industry, since in the past weaving was one of the things where they were allowed to operate — but I do not know where I read that. However, you are a history teacher, and so you would know.
Man alive…I’m left scratching my head while everybody else is LOLing left and right…I feel like I’m missing out on a great party! Or hopelessly obtuse when it comes to the gag here…
Look up Levites of ancient Hebrew tribe Levi in Bible. Then see Levi Strauss also Jewish who invented his denim work pants in 1872 and you’ll get the connection.

Levi’s are a brand of jeans. The Levis were priests in ancient Israel. So I tried to connect to two.
