Well, seeing as we don’t do the tree thing, I have to take your word for it. We simply enjoy them in their natural habitats. However, seeing pine needles beneath the evergreens gives an indication of what you have to deal with, I guess. Hope the clean-up is not too overwhelming for folks.
I did not put one up this year or last year. I swore that when I got old I would never be too lazy but it has become so much work. Stringing the Christmas cards was delightful enough.
I have loved my “fake” trees and now wonder why…as we are in a new house now since Nov 22nd 2011-fresh smell of pine needle sounds so nice, but the cleanup might be a bit messy…. Merry Christmas and Happiest of new years Carl. ♥ Jackie faithful follower…we just moved and are unpacking now….
Really do appreciate your support and I am glad to get to read your stuff. I’d rather take a bullet than have to move again. We did get rid of 75% of our stuff and see how foolish it was to hang on to it but I do miss all my tools but can’t work on anything here in this condo anyway. I like to restore furniture I find in the trash.
Yeah, these trees aren’t to be envied. Guess they’re more than just a one-night stand but they certainly won’t go the distance for something long term. More like the life of the holiday party.

You have a talent for coming up with fresh perspectives. Another good Christmas tree idea.

Lots of ideas germinate giving inanimate things human emotions and the absurdity therein and the bit of a joke combine to make the cartoon a success.

Plus they needle you. They claim it’s done good-naturedly, but I have my suspicions.

I’d pick the palm tree anyday. They look great decorated too… I’ve seen it myself. 🙂

While I do miss your old colorful style, I do like the new black and white ink drawings you’ve been doing too.
This comic most especially.
But how dare those palms judge that pine… like anyone likes coconuts or a total absence of shade.

Yeah but termites. With bugs it is a no win situation all around. Except for butterflies and lady bugs which bring good luck.

They aren’t housebroken either; they’ll drip sap all over the carpet.

Oh that too. Maybe we could create Christmas room wall paper to put up each year. Just tack it up, then roll it up and put it away for next year.

Honest to God- even the fake one we were forced to buy leaves a trail of needles from the living room to the basement.

They do it to tease us and to continue to mystify us. I pay them no attention so’s not to give them the upper hand which they usually command anyway.

They lose a few needles because they try to make them seem real. Or they are more cheap junk from China but that’s a post for another day.
