Beautiful pics, Carl. I opted to spend the holiday somewhere warm(er) and more tropical than here, at least – but it doesn’t compare to sunny Miami. Hope you have a wonderful New Year ahead!!

Miami does it BIG! Wow! Happy New Year (and happy birthday to your son!).

I hope your house didn’t catch on fire with all those fireworks going off everywhere. In Texas, they just shoot guns. LOL.

I’m sure that’s done in a sensible way in Texas. In Miami they think you are supposed to shoot your neighbors.

Beautiful photos, Carl. Thanks for making me smile so often during 2011; here’s wishing you and yours a blessed New Year! P.S. I, too, am afraid of being in water, especially water that’s over my head!

So nice to hear another adult admit to fear of water. I’ve always been petrified. I have to be able to stand flat-footed otherwise I won’t get into the pool! Those pics are beautiful, Carl. I like fireworks that are beautiful, but wish they would ban the bangs! Some animals go to pieces, their ears are so sensitive…

Yes it can be very traumatic for animals of all kinds. I remember my long gone yellow lab shivering. I had to hold her for hours.

I was such a fool last night. I waited for the fireworks to start 25 blocks south and have a perfect view. Then I remembered. They do it in this section only on the Fourth of July.

Good thing I recently moved from my old neighborhood where the fireworks are mostly gunshots. It can be so bad here with that, my daughter and kids stayed overnight with friends in next county north. Thanks for dropping by and Happy New Year.
