I hope people get the message and don’t think this is funny. The crack is moving in fourth and fifth grades here and the dynamic that drives youth culture today encourages the placement of status as it associates with all the very worst society has to offer. Yeah, the tattoos: spiders, skull, weapons, all the imagery of the Smurfs and Mother Goose, right?
Next they’ll have kids touring wineries and distilleries and meth- amphetamine labs . This will prepare them for adulthood and citizenship. The video games have already desensitized the children to murder and blood letting. Looks like a return to the Wild, Wild West 1850’s – 1890.
I’m still 100% positive that there are less guns in Detroit than almost every southern country I’ve ever been to though. Most people up here aren’t under the illusion that they’re being patriotic or “heroic” by having one either. It’s pure, unadulterated fear.
Detroit. Hmmmm. Philly and Cleveland too. In this hood they go off in reps of 6 or 8 typical Saturday night drunk fest, so it’s not fire crackers. There were 3 shootings my hood this month. But you are right about the fear thing. There are over 500 guns(whatever it is) for every man, woman and child in US and it is surprising that shootings or terrorist attacks ala Timothy McVeigh aren’t happening all over the place every weekend. So I guess our gun owning population is pretty sane after all.Except for the thugs. My daughter and her dude and three kids live in an especially unsafe part of Miami . You live where you can afford to live. About 10 years ago Jesse Jackson visited a school in Atlanta to console students and community after a school shooting and deaths. He said that in spite of things “We must not be driven by our fears, but by our hopes.” They say you won’t get killed or die unless it is your time. So I guess I does not matter how safe or unsafe things are. We will be here until it’s time.

Throw in some “youth” tattoos and you’ve got all the fixings for America’s next generation of gangsters.

Might just be that the free entry for kids will attract single parents who struggle for childminding? (Partial jest…)

Hey, we have sensible gun control in this country. You have to 21 with IQ over 58 to get those things.

Everyone has them in Detroit, I’m not sure of the legality but nobody seems to mind until one goes off in your direction.

Where’s the UAV’s?? (Unmanned Aerial Drones) Long distance shooting with high tech devices seems like more fun!!!! 🙂
