Maybe it’s time to find a new fishin’ spot.

Maybe you are right. See there’s fishin’ then the Lord and you have to have your priorities in order. Fishin’ first.
January 7th, 2013 at 06:56
Goin’ fishin’ for some converts. Dive right in, Carl. I know you’ll have a great comeback.

Presbyterian am I. Sprinkle only and non alcoholic grape juice for communion.

Haha. In my tiny part of Tennessee we refer to this as a Dunkin’ Party.
January 7th, 2013 at 22:17
Do ya’ll have Dunkin’ doughnuts too ?
January 7th, 2013 at 07:01
Time to pack it up and find a new spot.
Seems like you are right.

This cracked me up! One of our favorite swimming holes as a kid used to be used as a baptismal!
January 7th, 2013 at 22:18
Oh I see how you relate-perfect for your experience, eh ?
January 7th, 2013 at 08:49
This is what I call “fishers of men”
You got it, Seeker. You got it.

Nuthin like a bunch of baptizin’ to ruin a good day of fishin’.
January 7th, 2013 at 22:20
Besides scarin’all the fish away they expected them to drop a few bucks in the collection plate. The nerve of some people.

Underneath their robes the Methodists have fishing poles. They don’t dunk. I love starting my day with one of your cartoons.
January 7th, 2013 at 22:21
I’ll be here for your mornings for a long time.
January 7th, 2013 at 11:06
This looks a bit sketchy to me . . .
January 7th, 2013 at 22:22
Yeah, you’re kinda right.

There’s not enough fish in the sea, ahem, lake for all them folk. Time to move on.
January 8th, 2013 at 07:42
Better start sowing seeds of faith then for enough food of spirit.
January 8th, 2013 at 01:24
Hope there isn’t a ‘holy war’ over the fishing hole.
January 8th, 2013 at 07:43
The Lord still has 5,000 fish in his pocket.

Clearly they’ve all taken that “teach a man to fish” gospel to heart.

Cynics are religious too as you point out.

… gotta walk what you talk or you just don’t have anything to say

Between the US and Europe, the difference in the idea of “religion” is so big that I do not know anybody who could even guess what this joke was about.
I noticed that some years ago seeing people who had had a lot of schooling arguing about, well, let’s say, whether the Earth has 4 corners or not.

Yes, I think Europe is more secular than US even though we champion separation of church and state.
