Forever Lost by Carl D’Agostino
For far too many times
I’ve lost my rhymes.
Some verse I did complete.
but oft times I’ve lost the sheet
they were written upon.
On envelopes and napkins,
Left by the old toaster or
in a dresser drawer.
If one can’t recall,
No use writing anymore.
For lost rhymes are like
lost minds: They really
never were.
